To celebrate their new Live Love Play Hockey promotion, Hockey SA sought out six remarkable people in their organisation that embody Live Love Play Hockey
To start we have Margie McIlwraith, Margaret has as an incredible story that spans over 50 years of hockey. Starting as an 11 year old in Scotland, she is still playing today and tearing it up on the field!
Next is Lesley Thompson. One of the most remarkable stories we heard, Lesley talks about her battle with cancer and how her family on the hockey pitch has helped her through the hardships of chemotherapy.
And then there was Charlie Roberts! "This guy is a future kookaburra. Great skills." We don't even need to say it, because Jamie Dwyer already did! Check out Charlie's take on why he loves to play this great game.
Meet the Dedmans. If you play hockey in SA, chances are you know a Dedman! The Dedman's are a remarkable family that lives and breathes hockey over three generations. If we listed every part they play in our great sport, we'd be here all day. We'll let them explain.
And Matt Kingsmill, he likes a good yarn. He's a dedicated hockey coach and father that helped a country club rebuild it's senior ranks.
Peter Cornwell is from one of our many regional families who travel great distances to play hockey. Their dedication and support to our game is incredible.
As a young athlete from Clare, this 16 year old and his family travel the 3.5 hr round trip to play, umpire and train between the Metro & Clare Competition at least 3-4 days a week.
